Quintet for Wind and Light is a poem in five parts, set at five locations, about language, heritage, geology and time. The poem interweaves original material with snippets from dictionaries, song lyrics, road signs and news items into a sparkling tissue of quotations.

Equal parts landscape and travel writing, Quintet for Wind and Light begins in the ‘white hot white light’ of the Mediterranean Basin and proceeds, through the heart of England, to Iceland’s ‘arctic air’. It is an enthralling, life-affirming journey.
